Martinis, Margaritas, & Mules... Oh My!

For your cocktail drinking pleasure, our top 9 recipes for these scorching hot Summer months!

 

Best Summer Martinis

Aperol Spritz Martini

  • 1 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz vodka 
  • 4 to 6 TBSP (2 to 3 oz) chilled prosecco 
  • Orange peel twist 

 

Freeze a martini glass for 30 minutes. Combine the Aperol & vodka in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover & shake vigorously until thoroughly chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into the chilled martini glass. Top off with 2-3 oz prosecco. Garnish with the orange twist, & serve immediately.

 

French Ginger Martini

  • 2 oz Domaine de Canton ginger liqeuer
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 splash Grand Marnier

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Cover & shake to combine. Pour into a martini glass and enjoy!

 

Elderflower Cranberry Martini

  • 1 lime
  • 1 TBSP sugar, for rimming glass
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz elderflower liqueur (ie St. Germain™)
  • 1 oz cranberry juice

Zest 1/2 of the lime into a small bowl & combine with the sugar, rubbing the sugar & zest together with your fingers until fragrant. Sprinkle onto a small plate. Cut the lime into wedges, then use one to wet the edge of the serving glass. Gently tap the edge of the glass into the sugar, coating well. Set aside. 

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add vodka, elderflower liqueur, cranberry juice, and 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake vigorously to combine and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

 

Best Summer Margaritas

Fresh Watermelon Margarita

  • 2 chunks of watermelon (each the size of your thumb)
  • 2 oz of silver tequila
  • 1 oz of fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz of simple syrup
  • Dash of Cointreau
  • Coarse sea salt (optional)

Use a shaker top to crush the watermelon in the bottom of a pint glass. Fill the glass up with ice and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake vigorously for five to ten seconds. Rim a margarita glass with salt. Strain the mixture into the glass and garnish with a small watermelon wedge.

 

Honey Vanilla Margarita

  • 1 1/2 oz Casa Noble Crystal
  • 1 oz Licor 43
  • 1/2 oz Patron Citronge
  • 1/2 oz lime juice

Put a few ice cubes in a shaker, pour in all ingredients and shake until it’s chilled. Rim a margarita glass with salt and and strain the mixture into the glass. Garnish with a lime wheel, and serve.

 

Raspberry Grapefruit Margarita

  • 2 oz  100% agave silver tequila
  • 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 TBSP  raspberry jam
  • Ice
  • garnish: Grapefruit salt / Fresh raspberries / Sliced lime / Sliced grapefruit

Zest 1/2 a grapefruit & mix together with 1 TBSP salt. Wet the rim of a glass with a slice of lime and rim in the grapefruit salt. Fill glass with ice. Shake remaining ingredients together and strain over ice. Garnish with fresh raspberries, a slice of lime, and a slice of grapefruit.

 

Best Summer Mules

Blackberry Mule

  • 3 blackberries
  • 2 lime wedges 
  • 1 1/2 oz vodka 
  • 6 oz ginger beer 

Muddle the blackberries with 1 of the lime wedges in a cocktail shaker. Add the vodka and some ice and shake well. Strain into a copper mug filled with ice. Top off with ginger beer and garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

 

Coconut Mule

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Creme de Coconut
  • 1/2 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 3 oz Ginger Beer
  • To Garnish Lime Wedges
  • Ice

Using a copper mug or highball glass add your vodka, lime, and creme de coconut together until fully mixed. Creme de coconut is thick so give it some time to mix well with the ingredients. Once combined fill your mug/highball all the way up with ice. Top the rest off with ginger beer. Stir to combine and serve with a lime wedge on the rim.

 

Peach Mule

  • 1 oz vodka
  • .5 oz peach schnapps
  • .5 oz Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 ripe peach
  • 1/2 juicy lime
  • (1) 12 oz can of ginger beer

In a large cocktail shaker muddle, 4-5 lime wedges, 1/2 of a diced ripe peach and peach schnapps. Muddle until peaches are completely mashed. Add a handful of crushed ice and 1 ounce vodka to shaker. Swirl ingredients for approximately 5 seconds. Pour out contents of shaker into glass. Add ice to fill. Fill remainder of glass with ginger beer leaving a little bit of room. (this amount will vary with glass size). Top with .5 ounces of Grand Marnier.
